Responsibilities
- Enter financial transactions into the MYOB accounting system, including invoices, payments, expenses, and journal entries
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage accounts payable processes, including recording supplier invoices, processing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts
- Monitor accounts receivable to track customer invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and manage collections as necessary
- Process payroll transactions, including employee salary payments, deductions, and statutory contributions
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, superannuation requirements, and other payroll-related obligations
- Prepare and generate financial reports using MYOB software, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide insights to management as needed
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, BAS/GST statements, and other statutory filings in compliance with Australian tax laws
- Keep abreast of changes in tax regulations and accounting standards to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts, preparing adjusting entries, and conducting financial analysis
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as auditors and finance teams, to facilitate smooth and accurate financial reporting
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, including physical and electronic files, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure documentation of financial transactions and processes is accurate, complete, and easily accessible for audit purposes
