Summary

This role requires experience with Xero accounting software and Australian Payroll. You will perform daily bank reconciliations, monthly claim creation, accounts payable tasks, and payroll processing. Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of GST are essential. Requirements

• Possess a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Have experience with Xero accounting software, including daily bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and invoicing
• Have familiarity with invoice checking, payment runs, and financial reporting
• Possess knowledge of GST rates and tax-related tasks in accounting, specifically within Australia or New Zealand
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Xero for various accounting tasks, including reconciliations and invoicing
• Have the ability to create ABA files for payment runs and understand financial statements
• Be competent in using Excel, particularly for tasks like creating pivot tables for reports
• Have familiarity with financial report generation, such as Accounts Payable Listings and EOM (End of Month) reports

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Xero bank account reconciliations
• Create monthly claims in Xero
• Create Accounts Payable
• Check draft invoices when uploaded from Procore/Lentune
• Ensure new employees are entered correctly into Xero payroll module and any changes to current employees’ remuneration are recorded correctly in Xero payroll module
• Drive weekly/monthly payroll processing
• Ensure superannuation and payroll tax obligations are up to date
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as requested

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Australian Payroll
• Have previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles, ideally within construction or contracting industries
• Have experience with Procore, Lentune, or similar construction management software
