Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, including 2+ years in a management role
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online versions)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage personal workload while supervising others
  • Strong understanding of US accounting principles and tax requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience working with US clients
  • Proven team leadership and mentoring abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a personal portfolio of client accounts, handling all bookkeeping functions
  • Process accounts payable and receivable for assigned clients
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for assigned clients
  • Handle payroll processing and tax compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate and detailed financial records in QuickBooks
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2-5 bookkeepers, including work allocation and performance reviews
  • Oversee team's bookkeeping operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and approve team members' financial transactions and reports
  • Maintain QuickBooks systems and establish standardized processes
  • Handle escalated client issues and complex accounting matters
  • Develop and implement internal controls and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation
  • Experience with additional accounting software platforms
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance
  • Experience in multiple industries or with diverse client portfolios
