Business Analyst

Summary

Join Anika Systems, a fast-growing woman-owned small business, as a Business Analyst on our expanding Federal team. This primarily remote position (with occasional DC Metro site visits) requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a government suitability clearance. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define and document business requirements, create reports, and improve business processes. The role involves working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst are required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently
• 8+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, modeling tools, and documentation
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Familiarity with project management tools and software development lifecycle
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements. Ensure that requirements captured are clear, complete, and actionable
• Evaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement or optimization. Propose solutions to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
• Create detailed use cases, user stories, and mockups to illustrate software functionality and user interactions
• Work with stakeholders to prioritize and manage requirements based on business value and project constraints
• Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders and program teams. Ensure a shared understanding of project goals and requirements
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, use cases, and project-related materials
• Manage and document changes to project scope, requirements, and objectives throughout the project lifecycle
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in software development and business analysis. Suggest and implement process improvements
