Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in a business analyst role, ideally within a cloud or technology company
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, cloud financial management (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cost optimization techniques
- Experience working with financial models, cost analysis, and business forecasting
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros) and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into concise reports for non-financial stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to senior management
- Ability to think critically, assess risk, and propose solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to support the business finance team in understanding cloud revenue streams, cost structures, and profit margins
- Generate and interpret financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cloud services
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with cloud business objectives
- Analyze and track cloud infrastructure costs, including public platform, Software licenses, hosting expenses, and third-party service fees
- Provide recommendations for cost optimization strategies based on usage trends, market conditions, and business goals
- Work with cloud operations teams to ensure cost-efficient provisioning and utilization of cloud resources
- Collaborate with business units to create business cases for new cloud initiatives and investment opportunities
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments to determine financial feasibility and alignment with strategic goals
- Extract, clean, and analyze financial and operational data from internal systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) and cloud platforms to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Use advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools) to present actionable insights to stakeholders
- Work closely with cloud product, engineering, and operations teams to provide financial insights that support decision-making
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner, tailoring information to the audience's needs
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of financial risks related to cloud services and infrastructure investments
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CBAP)
- Familiarity with cloud financial management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, AWS Cost Explorer)
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Experience in a SaaS (Software as a Service) or PaaS (Platform as a Service) business environment
- Knowledge of cloud pricing models (e.g., pay-as-you-go, reserved instances, spot instances)
- Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques specific to cloud businesses
