Requirements

  • Demonstrated 1–3 years of hands-on experience designing and managing data-centric solutions using Microsoft Dataverse, including building normalized data models with complex table relationships, configuring business rules and calculated fields, and implementing role-based security. Integrated Dataverse with Power Apps and Power BI to enable real-time reporting and app-driven workflows, with a solid understanding of Common Data Service (CDS), dataflows, and REST API-based data integration
  • Proven 3–5 years of experience architecting and optimizing enterprise-grade automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate, including cloud flows and desktop flows (RPA). Designed scalable automation solutions integrating Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Dynamics 365, leveraging custom connectors, advanced error handling, and performance tuning techniques. Applied governance best practices to ensure compliance, maintainability, and secure flow execution across business-critical processes
  • MS Power Platform certification
  • Commitment to obtaining a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification within six months to one year of hire
  • 2-4 years’ experience developing flow charts/process flow diagrams or data flow diagrams/business process modeling
  • 2 years' experience with MS Power Apps and MS Power BI
  • Adept with MS Office Suite
  • Organized, self-disciplined, and be able to read and write English
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation (Public Trust)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain MS Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Apps and MS Power BI tools related to business process re-engineering efforts
  • Identify existing data sets that would be utilized or transformed for the business process reengineering program
  • Work with key stakeholders and users to gather, define, and document ‘as-is’ processes
  • Support FLETC data working group and other working groups, as necessary
  • Develop business process maps and translate functional requirements
  • Identify gaps, define the future state, and create specifications for enhancements
  • Provide analytical support to process development and improvement efforts
  • Work with program offices to define new areas of improvement, prioritize such improvements, define, and build business case justification for such new initiatives
  • Apply process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles to achieve business process modernization
  • Apply, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control, and risk analysis to modernize business processes
  • Create/modify existing process models, data dictionaries, standard operating procedure documents, and other supporting documentation
  • Perform quality assurance on finished work products to ensure the effort captures all changes accurately and completely
  • Coordinate and communicate the status of changes to team members and business leadership
  • Assist Senior Business Process Re-engineer, as needed
  • Assume ownership of the business deliverable content
  • Play a supporting role in all phases of the business process modernization
  • Attend meetings and provide input as needed
  • Provide weekly or monthly status updates as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) – for broader cloud understanding
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power Platform administration and environmental management
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or other cloud-based automation solutions
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Power Fx, and JSON for customizing Power Platform applications
  • Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices within the Power Platform ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • 4-year degree in a related field
  • Prior experience working in education and/or the federal government
  • Existing DHS (Department of Homeland Security) entrance on duty (EOD)
  • Existing Entry on Duty/Suitability with DHS FLETC
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong data analytical and research skills
  • Experience in federal government consulting
