Summary

The Business Systems Analyst at Horace Mann serves as a liaison between the business user groups and technical systems groups, assists with the creation of the business case, performs gap analysis, requirements analysis and design, designs and maintains business processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and performs issue analysis. The job is full-time and can be hybrid or remote.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in a technology or engineering related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years previous experience in either a quality assurance, business or a support role working on a Guidewire project
• Guidewire Cloud Certified Associate designation required
• BA professional certification course work (CBAP, CCBA, PBA)
• General knowledge of software development life cycle and project life cycle principles
• Strong analytical and technical skills are required
• Effective written and verbal communications in a professional manner to management, business partners, associates, and external resources

Responsibilities

• Carry out procedures to ensure that all information technology solutions and services meet company standards and user requirements
• Serve as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups
• Assist with the creation of the business case
• Perform gap analysis, requirements analysis and design
• Elicit functional and non-functional requirements
• Translate, simplify and organize requirements
• Design, document and maintain business and/or system processes
• Identify and design business/system improvement opportunities
• Perform issue analysis under the guidance of more senior level resources for system enhancements and/or production defects
• Provide requirements elicitation and design for small to medium sized business projects and/or enhancements

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Claim Center, Claims Lifecycle, and End to End Claim processing preferred
