Summary

The Business Systems Analyst at Horace Mann serves as a liaison between the business user groups and technical systems groups, ensuring IT solutions meet company standards. This role involves creating business cases, performing gap analysis, requirements analysis and design, designing and maintaining business/system processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and analyzing changes or issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in a technology or engineering related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years previous experience in either a quality assurance, business or a support role working on a Guidewire project
• Guidewire Cloud Certified Associate designation required
• BA professional certification course work (CBAP, CCBA, PBA)
• General knowledge of software development life cycle and project life cycle principles
• Strong analytical and technical skills are required
• Effective written and verbal communications in a professional manner to management, business partners, associates, and external resources

Responsibilities

• Carry out procedures to ensure that all information technology solutions and services meet company standards and user requirements
• Serve as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups
• Assist with the creation of the business case
• Plans and monitors project deliverables
• Performs gap analysis, requirements analysis and design
• Elicits functional and non-functional requirements
• Translates, simplifies and organizes requirements
• Manages and communicates requirements
• Designs, documents and maintains business and/or system processes
• Identifies and designs business/system improvement opportunities
• Performs issue analysis

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Claim Center, Claims Lifecycle, and End to End Claim processing preferred
