Remote Camp Manager

Summary

Join MATRIX as a Camp Manager for rotational projects across Canada in remote locations. This fully remote position requires resourcefulness, team orientation, and excellent prioritization skills. The role involves facilities maintenance, client relations, and staff management. Requirements include basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical, 2-3 years of experience as a Camp Manager, and relevant certifications.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical
• 2-3 years as a Camp Manager in remote settings
• PAL license (for wildlife monitoring) - required
• Level 1 Supervisor Ticket - required
• Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course - required
• Valid Driver's License
• Physically demanding job. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Proficient computer skills. MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365)
• Management, organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive attitude and a desire to help your team succeed

Responsibilities

• Facilities maintenance
• Mechanical operations such as generators, plumbing and electrical systems
• Work closely with Project Managers on any client relations
• Team player, hands-on support and overseeing staffing

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a remote camp setting
• Previous experience working with Diesel Generators, off-road vehicles and chainsaws
• Experience managing a crew
• Familiar using a Satellite phone
• Trades experience a definite asset
