Capstone Intern

Summary

Join Octagon's Summer Capstone Internship Program for a three-week immersive experience, working in teams on a strategic pitch for a new category. Alternatively, join the experiential internship for a two-week road rally across the US. The capstone internship is fully remote and paid, while the experiential internship involves extensive travel and event activation. Both internships offer valuable experience in event marketing and mentorship opportunities. The experiential internship requires being at least 21 years old, possessing a valid driver's license and clean driving record, and having strong teamwork and communication skills. The capstone internship involves collaboration with Octagon employees and a final presentation to the executive board.

Requirements

• Be at least 21+ years of age
• Have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Have a desire to learn and develop a career in event marketing
• Possess excellent verbal communication skills
• Have personality traits: confident, engaging, enthusiastic and articulate
• Have the capacity to become knowledgeable on our client’s industry, brand and product offerings
• Have the ability and comfort level to communicate with consumers, potential consumers or fans in an event setting
• Have the ability to travel and be on the road for 2-3 weeks straight in the summer of 2024 without returning home
• Be available: July 8 – July 22, 2024
• Have the ability to drive for up to 6 hours at a time
• Have a strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and solve problems effectively and independently
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute on-site activities
• Be responsible for daily set-up, breakdown, and maintenance of all event equipment
• Troubleshoot on-site challenges
• Rotate between various activation components onsite
• Ensure that event attendees have a positive and engaging experience
• Keep organized records of all travel expenses and time tracking
• Work/travel on weekends, holidays and during non-traditional hours
• Other related duties as reasonably assigned
