Summary
Join the Koch Internship Program (KIP) and MPPF (Marijuana Policy Project Foundation) as an Administrative Assistant! This paid, 10-week internship offers valuable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting the Administrative and Human Resources departments. You will perform clerical tasks, manage databases, process correspondence, conduct research, and assist with various projects. The position requires strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail skills, with proficiency in MS Office Suite. While in-person work in D.C. is preferred, remote options may be considered. The internship provides a stipend of $5,500 or $3,300 depending on whether you work full-time or part-time.
Requirements
- Commitment to the mission of the Marijuana Policy Project, appreciation for community nonprofits, and support for the organization's strategic goals
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English (verbal and written, online and in social media)
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Maintain high professional ethical standards
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Take pride in responding quickly to all inquiries and requests
- Impeccable follow-through skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning documents into an electronic system and making copies of documents
- Assist in the maintenance of databases, including entering data
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Answer and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member
- Research and compile data: such as HR practices, legal compliance, and other related research
- Support the Operations Coordinator with projects as needed
- Assist leaders with requests for mail lists, surveys, and other requests as needed
- Assist with organizing event logistics, printing materials for in-person events, and shipping them when needed
- Assist with mobilizing impacted individuals in key states and districts by collecting constituent feedback and stories
- Assist with other projects as assigned, including gathering data on pertinent policy issues, responding to internal and external inquiries, Excel spreadsheet preparation, office management tasks, coordinating with staff in other departments, etc
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data maintenance
- Familiarity with Mac and other Apple products
Benefits
