Certified Nurse Assistant

Summary

HR Pros is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide nursing care to patients in various VA Facilities. The ideal candidate should be dependable, compassionate, punctual, reliable, empathetic, and enjoy helping others. They will perform patient care duties, medical needs tasks, and maintain any specialized training.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a nursing assistant course or the equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking

Responsibilities

• Instill confidence and trust in patients in a competent and caring manner
• Provide hygiene and daily living assistance, including toileting, bathing, and assisting with showers
• Support the patient with meals as needed
• Ambulate, turn, and position patients as required
• Check vital signs and weight
• Perform sugar and acetone urine testing and specimen collection
• Administer non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz, and therapeutic baths

Preferred Qualifications

Previous hospital experience with acceptable references preferred
