Requirements

  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in driving financial performance in high-growth environments. Ability to partner with the growth, delivery and enablement teams to drive performance
  • Expertise in digital transformation and the application of technology in finance
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, with a record of successful integrations
  • Previous experience and knowledge of NetSuite
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • An entrepreneurial thinker and a solution-focused problem solver
  • Ideally situated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and able to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections
  • Oversee M&A-related initiatives
  • Ensure robust financial management systems and controls are in place
  • Manage the company’s financial performance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management
  • Oversee accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Partner with business units to drive financial performance and achieve growth targets
  • Support project teams with financial insights and analysis to enhance decision-making
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies and optimize revenue models
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market, operational, and credit risks
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
  • Ensure the company’s assets are safeguarded through appropriate insurance and risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors and investors
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, to support growth initiatives
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies to enhance financial processes and reporting
  • Leverage data analytics to improve financial decision-making and business insights
  • Ensure the finance function is equipped to support the company’s digital transformation initiatives
  • Support our growth organization in building business cases for transformation for our clients
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department
  • Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure succession planning and talent retention
