Chief Financial Officer

Summary

Join Neptune, a company empowering AI research teams, as their next CFO. Lead financial strategy and analysis, manage budgets and forecasts, and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will handle investor communications, oversee payroll and expenses, and manage external audits. Provide leadership to direct reports in Finance, Compliance, and HR Operations. This role requires 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably in startups or high-growth companies, and proficiency in modern finance technology.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years in CFO or equivalent senior finance role, necessarily in startups or high-growth companies
• Understands early stage business financials and dynamics
• Both hands on and strategic
• Acts fast and makes decisions based on data

• Had exposure to fundraising due diligence
• Capable leader with experience managing remote teams
• Adaptable and agile in fast-paced environments
• Proficient in modern finance tech stack (Google Sheets is a must, some other tools we use include: Quickbooks, FlowRev, multiple online banking solutions, Notion, Slack etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written English, Polish is a plus
• Comfortable working with neurodivergent colleagues and executives

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy and analysis
• Take ownership of existing reports and processes
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance by closely working and overseeing the internal coordinator for accounting
• Manage budgets and forecasts
• Give guidance on budget execution
• Handle investor communications
• Oversee payroll and expenses in collaboration with in-house HROps coordinator
• Sign external vendor and contractor agreements
• Act as company's attorney-in-fact
• Oversee external audits (financial and SOC2)
• Provide leadership and clear guidance to direct reports (Finance, Compliance, HR Operations)
