Summary

Portoro is seeking an experienced CFO to lead its financial operations and strategy. The ideal candidate has experience as a CFO within a scaling startup, with a proven track record in fundraising, M&A, and fund accounting. The role involves developing and executing financial strategies, leading fundraising efforts, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, managing ERP systems, providing leadership to the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing financial controls, and leading financial due diligence for acquisition targets.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a CFO with extensive experience in fundraising, M&A, and fund accounting
  • Strong background in financial planning and analysis, ERP systems (experience with Sage Intacct preferred), and accounting principles, with proven ability to manage comprehensive financial models
  • Experience in startup environments, demonstrating the ability to scale financial operations and drive growth
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing financial teams and cross-functional projects, with a strong ability to drive strategic initiatives
  • Extensive experience in interacting with investors and leading fundraising efforts

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support Portoroโ€™s growth and expansion
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including financial modeling, investor presentations, and managing due diligence processes
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis to inform strategic decisions and refine projections
  • Manage and enhance ERP systems (experience with SageIntacct preferred) to improve financial operations and reporting
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective fund accounting practices
  • Implement financial controls and processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Lead financial due diligence and integration for acquisition targets, supporting M&A activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in property management software or real estate software is highly desirable. Experience in other tech or software companies is also valuable
