Summary
Join The Symicor Group as a remote Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on a 1099/contract basis, offering a competitive hourly rate of up to $72/hr and a benefits package. A Bachelor's degree in finance and accounting is required, with a Master's degree and CPA designation preferred.
Requirements
- Have a Bachelorβs degree in finance and accounting from a four-year college or university
- Have extensive experience with a bank of at least $5B in assets
- Have seven or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Be proficient in PC software such as Excel, Word, and Access
- Have excellent attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
- Have excellent communication skills: verbal, listening, and written
- Have the ability to work well under pressure, set priorities, meet deadlines, and resolve highly complex financial problems
Responsibilities
- Direct all financial activities, including reporting, planning, supervision, and investments for all the organization
- Help the Executive Team in forecasting, budgeting, and preparing for the next level
- Prepare and file annual tax returns or prepare financial information so that outside accountants can complete tax returns
- Prepare or direct the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies
- Be a member of or Chairman of the bankβs ALCO committee
- Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
- Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes
- Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals
- Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of the organization
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed
- Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations
- Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas
