Summary

Join Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC) as a Claims Supervisor and lead a team of Claims Specialists. Supervise adjusters, ensuring quality control and training. Liaise between Golden State, carrier partners, and stakeholders, adhering to best practices. Review claim files, assign them appropriately, and provide supervisory notes. Address client complaints, conduct claim conferences, and review coverage evaluations. Participate in committees, conduct training, and handle key claim files. Conduct internal audits, report high-potential claims, and present files at roundtables. Travel for meetings and negotiations is required.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent claims management experience
  • 5+ years claims management and litigation experience
  • Must be a licensed claims adjuster in at least one home state and be willing to secure additional licenses as requested
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of direct report adjusters of varying levels of technical experience
  • Claims may include the following: construction, pet, excess and more as business evolves
  • Training adjusters in all aspects of their jobs and ensure quality control of their files
  • Prepare and participate in performance evaluations of the adjusters reporting as outlined by Golden State
  • Share responsibility for reviewing all new claim files and assign them to the appropriate adjuster, taking into account their experience level and licensure
  • Ensure supervisory notes of a technical nature are placed in each file handled by an adjuster at the 30-day mark and at least every 90 days thereafter, or, more often as the file may dictate
  • Address complaint calls from clients, insured and claimants
  • Conduct claim conferences with adjusters, carrier partners, defense counsel, coverage counsel or other vendors as needed
  • Review coverage evaluation and coverage letters to ensure they are issued timely and accurately
  • Participate in assigned task force committees and other groups/committees as required
  • Conduct training seminars for existing and new employees
  • May carry a pending of key, large exposure or sensitive claim files
  • Conducts internal audits on a quarterly basis
  • Identify and report Notice of High Potential claims (NHP’s) to the Head of Claims
  • Present claim files to the committee at the weekly roundtables
  • Willingness to travel for onsite meetings, conferences and settlement negotiations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience directly managing or supervising claims personnel preferred
