Summary

The job is for a Legislative Analyst on a 3-year contract with the Department of Homeland Security. The role involves conducting legislative research, gathering and summarizing materials, understanding public policy areas, planning and organizing, communicating effectively, and having knowledge of the legislative process. A minimum Secret clearance is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research, gather, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for policy makers
• Work cross functionally to build and maintain relationships/partnerships across the political party landscape
• Staff legislation, provide budget analysis summaries, prepare background materials, talking points, and hearing and floor statements

Preferred Qualifications

Top Secret clearance preferred
