Requirements
- Minimum of 3 yearsβ experience specifically managing teams focused on DevOps and/or Cloud based engineering
- Minimum of 5 yearsβ experience using AWS and GCP cloud products in a production environment
- Proven experience defining a well thought out strategy and executing on an associated operational plan
- Ability to dissect complicated technical problems, simplify experiences and innovate on behalf of our internal and external partners through demonstrated automation
- Excellent leadership skills including: Ability to manage FTE and contract staff remotely across multiple locations, time zones
- Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change without frustration
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills - must have ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations
- Experience working in a team using Agile development and project management practices
- Experience in the life sciences or other scientific domain
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic work environments and shifting demands
- Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and an effective communicator
- Scrappy, willing to pitch in where needed
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership of the cloud engineering and DevOps functions
- Provide the vision, roadmap and support the implementation of our internal tools and products
- Enable the DevOps experience by transforming culture from legacy practices to enable self-reliant development and deployment
- Implement and review cybersecurity measures and procedures
- Design and implement cost optimization and data life cycle management strategies
- Work closely with cross functional leaders to make sure we are building the right thing at the right time
- Provide leadership and experience in securing infrastructure, code and data
- Grow the existing team balanced with external partnerships
- Work closely with other technology leaders, most particularly in the execution of products and features that operate across multiple parts of our stack
