Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience specifically managing teams focused on DevOps and/or Cloud based engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience using AWS and GCP cloud products in a production environment
  • Proven experience defining a well thought out strategy and executing on an associated operational plan
  • Ability to dissect complicated technical problems, simplify experiences and innovate on behalf of our internal and external partners through demonstrated automation
  • Excellent leadership skills including: Ability to manage FTE and contract staff remotely across multiple locations, time zones
  • Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change without frustration
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills - must have ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations
  • Experience working in a team using Agile development and project management practices
  • Experience in the life sciences or other scientific domain
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic work environments and shifting demands
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and an effective communicator
  • Scrappy, willing to pitch in where needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership of the cloud engineering and DevOps functions
  • Provide the vision, roadmap and support the implementation of our internal tools and products
  • Enable the DevOps experience by transforming culture from legacy practices to enable self-reliant development and deployment
  • Implement and review cybersecurity measures and procedures
  • Design and implement cost optimization and data life cycle management strategies
  • Work closely with cross functional leaders to make sure we are building the right thing at the right time
  • Provide leadership and experience in securing infrastructure, code and data
  • Grow the existing team balanced with external partnerships
  • Work closely with other technology leaders, most particularly in the execution of products and features that operate across multiple parts of our stack
