Cloud Ops Engineer

Summary

Join Geoforce's growing DevOps team as a DevOps Engineer and contribute to the modernization and platform integration of our industry-leading GPS tracking solutions. You will be part of a talented software organization, working on various infrastructure operations and production engineering projects. This role requires experience with cloud technologies, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code. You will collaborate with developer and product teams, gather project requirements, and execute on critical company goals. The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of networking and Windows Systems Administration, and familiarity with SDLCs and production software deployment.

Requirements

• Possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Have a solid understanding of networking
• Have a solid understanding of Windows Systems Administration
• Be familiar with SDLCs and deploying software in production environments
• Be able to discuss business concerns and relate to technological ones
• Have experience with Azure Cloud or another major cloud provider
• Have experience with EntraID
• Have experience with Docker containers
• Have experience with Git and collaborating when working on code
• Have experience with managing infrastructure as code or configuration as code, preferably with Terraform
• Be able to write scripts in a shell scripting language (Powershell/Bash)
• Have experience with relational databases (MSSQL or PostgreSQL)
• Have experience using Kubernetes in production environments (AKS/EKS and Helm)
• Have experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Have experience building and packaging software in different languages (C#, Typescript, Python, Java, etc)

Responsibilities

• Assist in various infrastructure operations and production engineering projects
• Build and maintain infrastructure that hosts and supports a company’s core products
• Work with various developer and product teams to gather requirements for projects critical to the company’s goals and execute on them
• Comprehend code to assist in debugging production issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Be familiar with working in an Agile environment
• Have a security background and experience applying it within DevOps best practices
• Have logging and monitoring experience with Prometheus and Grafana
• Have experience maintaining Microsoft SQL Server
• Have experience with feature environment infrastructure for teams
• Have experience working in software development directly
