Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Collections in a banking environment with 5 years in management
  • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA, FCRA)
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and assess credit risk
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop team members
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and implement collection strategies
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of portfolio managers to achieve performance goals
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce delinquent accounts
  • Monitor account statuses, analyze trends, and generate reports on collection performance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations related to debt collection
  • Handle escalated customer disputes and negotiate payment arrangements as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting and customer service, to resolve issues
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their collection techniques and customer interactions
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and recovery rates
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update internal systems
  • Foster a positive and goal-oriented team environment while maintaining high ethical standards
