Summary

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an in-house commercial counsel, preferably in the healthcare SaaS technology industry
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience overseeing go-to-market processes and managing intellectual property portfolios
  • Experience managing and enforcing commercial legal contracting processes
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-oriented approach

Responsibilities

  • Provide global legal support on a wide range of commercial transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with customers
  • Draft and maintain template agreements; identify gaps and recommend and develop legal and cross functional contract processes and improvements
  • Review, implement, communicate, enforce, and manage legal contract processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide clear, reasoned risk analysis and opportunities related to contracts and new and existing products and services for leadership
  • Manage the commercial go-to-market process, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and develop the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
  • Manage and enforce the commercial legal contracting process to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support business growth and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes and claims in collaboration with external counsel when necessary
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and industry trends to proactively address potential legal issues
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on legal and compliance matters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing large-scale software programs, e.g., a contract lifecycle management program
  • Experience with AI in legal department operations context
  • Experience with healthcare regulations and data privacy laws is a plus
