Summary

Join The Concord Group as a Commercial Lines Underwriter I. Responsible for understanding and applying insurance coverage, making underwriting decisions according to company philosophy, and communicating effectively with associates, agents, and CSRs. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent preferred
• Demonstrates sufficient knowledge to have a clear understanding of insurance coverage and risk selection

Responsibilities

• Determines and obtains information needed to effectively evaluate exposure to loss
• Applies good judgment in making independent decisions about risks under consideration
• Selects, rejects or offers acceptable alternatives for a given risk, within guidelines and philosophy established by the Company
• Communicates with Company associates, independent agents, CSRs and other insurance service organizations effectively and clearly
• Provides guidance to agents and CSRs on basic policy features, programs and coverages
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance in meeting a defined work schedule
• Provides outstanding service to internal and external customers with a positive, friendly attitude
