Compliance Manager

Summary

Join Cleo as their Compliance Manager and play a key role in building a world-class compliance team. This new role reports to the Head of Legal and Compliance and involves managing day-to-day operations of the compliance program. You will support bank partnerships, assist with regulatory examinations, provide compliance advice, and lead compliance oversight. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in a bank or fintech compliance role, focusing on financial services consumer banking, payments, or lending compliance. Requirements

• You have at least five years of work experience in a bank or fintech compliance role, focusing on financial services consumer banking, payments, or lending compliance
• You’re comfortable carving your path in a fast-paced environment
• You’re able and excited to conceive of and execute projects independently
• You have the ability to quickly pick up new concepts, and dive into a problem with a solutions-oriented, outcome-focused mindset – even with no prior background in the subject matter
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities, and the ability to develop creative solutions for challenging, open-ended problems

Responsibilities

• Support our bank partnerships by attending and eventually leading weekly meetings with our bank partners
• Assist with regulatory examinations, audits and state licensing
• Provide compliance advice and guidance to internal business partners
• Lead compliance oversight of complaints response and overall program; able to identify, analyze and communicate trends and suggest mitigation pathways
• Able to lead the vendor management function, proactively conducting vendor due diligence and identifying scenarios where additional oversight may be required
• Review marketing and consumer-facing assets for UDAAP and other regulatory red flags
• Coordinate and manage vendor-provided compliance training
• As we scale, you’ll help us identify new opportunities to enhance compliance and protect the businesses from unreasonable risk

Preferred Qualifications

• You are located in the EST timezone
• Experience working for a global company across different time-zones
• Experience working with NMLS
