Summary

Join Quest Defense, a leading engineering services firm, as a part-time MRB Support Engineer. You will be responsible for performing functional analysis of product non-conformities, interfacing with internal and external engineering teams, substantiating disposition of non-conformities, interpreting stress analysis reports, and suggesting improvements to production processes. You will also provide engineering support for component design and analysis, capturing system requirements, developing components, and applying technical principles to solve engineering problems. This role requires 25+ years of experience in the gas turbine industry, a BS/B.Tech in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering, and proficiency with MS Office, particularly MS Excel. The position offers a flexible work schedule, potential for remote work, and a full compensation package based on experience and certifications.

Requirements

  • 25+ years of experience in the gas turbine industry
  • BS/B.Tech in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly MS Excel required
  • US Citizen required due to the nature of work

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional analysis for product non-conformities based on design criteria, field serviceable limits, and certification documents of aircraft structural and mechanical systems design issues
  • Direct interface with other internal/external engineering areas involved on non-conformity analysis
  • Substantiate the disposition of non-conformities as required and present it for the local authorities
  • Interpret the Stress Analysis Reports and documentation according to certification regulations
  • Suggest the required analysis to substantiate changes to a component based upon the capability of the production processes or suggest improvements to the current process to reduce or eliminate MRB
  • Provide engineering support and review for production process improvements and changes
  • Evaluate fit, form, function and life of the components relative to the certified configuration
  • Capture system requirements from the customer and incorporate into the component design
  • Develop components and modules keeping cost, performance, life, and system requirements in mind
  • Support team with their design and analysis of the component using CAE tools (NX, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS workbench)
  • Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems
  • Evaluate fit, form, function and life of the components relative to the certified configuration

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management experience is a plus
