Requirements

  • Excellent written English including immaculate spelling and grammar
  • Outstanding proof-reading skills
  • You will need to be a competent and compelling writer, able to take on topics about a variety of topics and draw attention throughout the piece
  • Ability to take on different writing styles
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Happy to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and able to organise own time
  • A proven track record in a copywriting, blogging, articles, PR or other writing roles, if possible, in a digital setting
  • A basic understanding of how SEO and content marketing work together
  • Experience of working with a website CMS is an advantage
  • Some HTML experience would be an advantage
  • Remaining calm under the pressure of tight deadlines
  • 2:1 minimum in relevant degree, ideally English language focused although marketing and other relevant degrees will also be considered
  • An A in English Language A-Level would be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with the SEO and PPC teams to ensure the content aligns with the client’s overall strategies
  • Ability to take a brief from your clients and create content plans based on the client’s need and your own keyword research
  • Advise clients to consider alternative content types, such as infographics and videos, and creating these
  • Deliver content that meets the client’s expectations whilst also matching the reader’s intent to maximise visibility
  • Manage client feedback and revisions and, thereby, deliver content on time
  • Work with clients to ensure all copy meets their organisation’s tone of voice
  • Maintain an awareness of the latest developments in digital marketing and how this impacts our clients
  • Work alongside the SEO team to create quarterly content plans for our digital marketing clients
  • Deliver a minimum of 25 pieces of content per month, across a range of subjects, sectors and locations. This will typically include short-form blogs, long-form blog, infographics and videos
  • Support the SEO team with refreshing existing content to ensure it remains relevant and targets the right keywords and phrases
  • Contribute ideas to our weekly team calls, including new digital marketing trends and new ways that we can work as a team or with our clients
  • Work alongside the SEO and PPC teams to create strategy and performance reviews to present to clients in quarterly business reviews
