Requirements

  • 2–3 years of professional writing experience, preferably in an agency or marketing environment
  • Strong portfolio of website copy, landing pages, or blog content
  • Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and ability to match brand tone and voice
  • Comfortable writing for service-based industries or local business audiences
  • Experience formatting and publishing content in WordPress, ideally using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and/or Elementor
  • Familiarity with Google Docs, Figma, and Slack for team collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple content projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of SEO principles like keyword placement, meta descriptions, and semantic structure (Plus)
  • Able to convey ideas clearly, concisely, and with attention to audience tone and context
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and meets deadlines across multiple ongoing projects
  • Works well with designers, developers, and managers to produce cohesive, high-performing content
  • Can shift tone and structure depending on client brand or industry without losing clarity
  • Capable of identifying layout/content conflicts and offering clear, workable solutions
  • Comfortable navigating CMS tools, design previews (Figma), and cloud-based writing environments

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality, on-brand content for client websites, including homepage copy, service pages, and blog posts
  • Tailor voice and messaging to match each client’s brand while communicating clearly to home service audiences
  • Work closely with designers and developers to ensure content fits seamlessly into final designs and layout structures
  • Provide feedback or edits to accommodate visual constraints without compromising clarity or SEO potential
  • Upload and format content using WordPress and ACF and/or Elementor, ensuring proper structure, internal linking, and user-friendly formatting
  • Follow page build instructions and collaborate with developers when technical content adjustments are needed
  • Implement content revisions based on internal feedback, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and track updates to ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Communicate and coordinate using Slack, Google Docs, and Figma to stay aligned with project objectives and design drafts
  • Use shared folders and internal systems to organize and version content across multiple projects
  • Adapt content tone and structure to match a variety of client brands across different industries, primarily within the home services space
  • Follow internal brand guides, content standards, and client-specific language preferences
  • Collaborate with the Website Development Manager to prioritize assignments, track task progress, and meet content deadlines
  • Participate in internal meetings to review upcoming projects or content needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • SEO Best Practices is preferred and familiarity with SEO concepts such as meta descriptions, keyword placement, or semantic structure is a plus
  • Experience using tools like Yoast would be beneficial but is not expected

  • The Salary range offered for this position varies from (USD) $1,500 - $2,500 per month, depending on seniority and skillset
  • This position is for an independent contractor, through a payroll platform
