Summary
Join Harbor Health, a healthcare innovator in Austin, as their Controller! This key leadership role oversees accounting operations across all units, encompassing monthly financial statements, annual target setting, audit coordination, external reporting, and data consolidation. You will directly manage Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Statutory & Tax reporting, ensuring timely and accurate data for critical business decisions. Collaboration with the CFO and senior leadership is essential. Requirements
- Have previous experience working for a health insurance organization
- Bachelorβs Degree in Accounting
- 10 years of progressive work experience in accounting, with 2+ years in a Corporate Controller role
- Statutory accounting experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with Senior Leadership teams across all aspects of an organization
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly financial close process ensuring timeliness and accuracy of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory accounting results
- Develop plans to further automate financial systems and processes, including, but not limited to, financial reporting, tax compliance, and management reporting
- Oversee and maintain annual audit and tax compliance efforts as well as developing long-term trusted relationships with external auditors, tax consultants and financial advisors
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, internal controls and tools to comply with U.S. GAAP and statutory financial reporting as appropriate
- Document and explain the impact of new technical accounting and tax guidance, supported by external experts as needed
- Oversee Treasury and cash management function, and accurately manage the operating cash needs of the organization
- Provide guidance, training and manage the performance of direct reports
