Summary
Join MotionPoint, a leading translation platform company, as an Assistant Controller supporting the CFO in managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. This high-impact role involves building and refining processes, overseeing month-end close, managing audits, and ensuring financial integrity. You will help manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions, improve internal controls, and assist in budgeting and forecasting. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and support for ad hoc analysis and special projects. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS, tech, or growth-oriented environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, Sage Intacct is preferred. (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Support the CFO with day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Lead coordination with external auditors for annual audits
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Improve and document internal controls and accounting processes
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Work cross-functionally with teams to support operational efficiency and strategic initiatives
- Support ad hoc analysis and special projects for the CFO
- Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures to support internal controls and operational consistency
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and rolling forecasts; track and analyze variances
- Perform financial analysis to support business decisions related to pricing, contracts, and investment opportunities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts
- Support tax compliance including preparation of federal, state, and local returns, as well as 1099 filings
- Review contracts for appropriate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
- Collaborate on accounting system improvements and process optimization initiatives
