Corporate Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Corporate Accountant at Newton, a remote Canadian cryptocurrency trading platform. The accountant will perform full-cycle accounting, review expenses, do daily reconciliations, post journal entries, assist with payroll, prepare regulatory reports, and help in the preparation of weekly and monthly financial results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting / finance / business
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in accounting
• Working knowledge of cloud-based bookkeeping and other accounting software
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statement accounts
• A self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously
• Ability to structure thinking in a logical manner and clearly communicate ideas

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or successful completion of CFE
• A working knowledge of IFRS and financial modelling
• Busy season experience in external audit
• Experience using Netsuite
