Join HubSpot's Legal Team as a Legal Counsel for a 1-year fixed term, based remotely in the UK or Ireland. This role provides crucial commercial leadership and support, primarily assisting Customer Success Teams in EMEA and North America. You will offer first-line legal support, handling disputes, privacy queries, compliance questions, and contract renewals. The position requires a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years PQE, experience in a technology company or advising them, and expertise in contract review, drafting, and negotiation. You will work cross-functionally, developing scalable solutions for customer legal issues. This is a fast-paced role demanding strong communication, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.
Requirements
- Are qualified to practice law in the UK or Ireland with at least 2 years PQE
- Have experience practicing law within a technology company with a global presence or experience advising technology companies if working in private practice
- Interested in emerging technology areas such as AI, and are familiar with Privacy and Security-related regulations
- Are experienced in: solving complex customer legal questions; dispute resolution; contract review, drafting and negotiation
- Comfortably handle legal questions from customers globally
- Have a strong ability to handle a broad range of commercial contract matters and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Want to learn quickly and are quick starters
- Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members and their stakeholders
- Are able to handle high-volume and prioritize tasks according to urgency and business need
- Have strong communication and organizational skills
- Have a can do, adaptable attitude with a willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Possess strong communication skills, especially via email, Slack and Zoom
- Have fluency in English

Responsibilities
- Be a quick starter that is able to quickly grasp global legal and contractual issues impacting our customers and provide commercial and practical advice and support to our Customer Success teams
- Provide first line legal support to our Global Customer Success teams handling customer disputes, privacy queries, local compliance questions and contract renewals, with a primary focus on supporting the EMEA and North America regions, you will also share workload with the wider CS legal support team and support other regions globally where required
- Provide customer-focused solutions to complex legal questions
- Help develop robust enablement to scale legal problem solving for Customer Success
- Work cross functionally with other legal teams to highlight the most pressing concerns for customers in your region and develop scalable solutions
