Remote Creative Technologist

Summary

VSA is seeking a Creative Technologist with 5-10 years of experience in web design and development to join their team in creating digital experiences for clients. The role requires proficiency in Webflow, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and other front-end technologies. A Bachelor's degree in software engineering or design-related field is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in either a software engineering or design related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Demonstrated expertise in Webflow, with a strong portfolio showcasing your proficiency in the platform
• Proven experience (5-10 years) in web design and development, with a focus on delivering high-quality, user-centric digital experiences
• Proficiency in front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern web development workflows (e.g., Agile, Scrum)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with strategists, visual and interaction designers, content managers, and project managers to understand project objectives and requirements
• Lead the design and development of custom websites and digital experiences using Webflow
• Implement advanced interactions, animations, and transitions using Webflow's capabilities and custom code (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) when necessary
• Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in web design and development, and leverage them to enhance our projects
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other web design and development tools/platforms such as Wordpress and Shopify
• Proficiency using modern frontend technologies like React, Astro, and Vue
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
