Summary

Join Platform Science as a Credit & Collections Senior Manager to lead and evolve credit and collections operations across North America. Manage a small team, execute credit approvals, and oversee collections processes. Own the A/R health for a portfolio of customers. Serve as a key cross-functional partner to Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations. Improve working capital, drive KPI performance, and maintain healthy customer relationships. This fast-paced role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or 5 + years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in credit and collections, including at least 2-3 years in a team leadership or management role and a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
  • Proven ability to reduce aged A/R and drive improvements in DSO and other related KPIs
  • Excellent communication and negotiation Skills with a clear track record of effectively communicating with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of credit risk management that includes knowledge of credit evaluation, credit scoring, and credit policies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations in the US and Canada, including an understanding of credit and collections laws and regulations
  • Experience managing credit risk in a SaaS or subscription-based business model
  • Strong knowledge of billing, order-to-cash cycles, and exception handling for credit issues and bad debt
  • Deep proficiency with ERP and collections tools (NetSuite, GetPaid, Salesforce, D&B Finance Analytics preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with executive-level presentation experience
  • Experience managing third-party collection agencies

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small team of credit and collections specialists, setting clear goals, managing performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement collection strategies, monitor aging reports, and manage the collections process to maximize recovery of outstanding payments
  • Oversee the credit review and approval process, including analyzing credit applications and recommending credit limits for both new and existing customers. Also responsible for monitoring credit risk
  • Drive proactive strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and other KPIs with a focus on high-risk accounts and aging receivables
  • Represent the Credit & Collections function in audits, leadership meetings, and strategic planning
  • Responsible for: Month/Quarter End Close & Reporting
  • Guides and works with the team to complete all month / quarter end close deliverables according to the production calendar
  • Works closely with Accounting in order to prepare a month end bad debt review and submits bad debt reserve recommendations according to policy for review and approval
  • Prepare ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports on credit and collection performance (including KPIs), analyze credit data to identify risks and opportunities, and provide insights to senior management
  • Develop and optimize reporting dashboards for aging, risk scoring, and team performance metrics
  • Own the collections process end-to-end for a portfolio of customers, including customer outreach, account escalations, coordination with third-party collection agencies, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve disputes
  • Responsible for achieving target KPIs set for an identified portfolio of customers
  • Partner with the cash application team to streamline reconciliations and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Continuously improve order-to-cash processes through automation, system optimization, and process refinement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of successfully leading change management, system implementations, or process improvement initiatives
  • Strong Excel, SQL, or BI/reporting skills a plus
