Join Chamberlain University as a Curriculum Developer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare education. You will be responsible for creating and improving health sciences curricula, ensuring they meet and exceed professional, accreditation, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including faculty, administration, and instructional designers, to develop and maintain best-in-class courses. Your expertise will be instrumental in directing resources, creating standardized courses with cutting-edge materials and technologies, and serving as a senior-level curriculum expert. You will also lead initiatives, promote evaluation, and assess curriculum outcomes. This role requires a strong foundation in instructional design and a commitment to continuous improvement in healthcare education.
Requirements
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum and course development, with a strong foundation in instructional design across online, blended, and onsite modalities
- Demonstrated use of active learning strategies and innovative teaching technologies in prior instructional roles
- Strong knowledge of educational and instructional theories applicable to diverse teaching and learning modalities
- Proven ability to lead complex projects to successful outcomes while adhering to budget constraints
- Effective collaboration and leadership through strong influencing and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in current techniques and tools for curriculum design, development, and delivery
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and presentation tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Understanding of the regulatory environment in higher education and nursing education
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels and thrive in a fast-paced, initiative-driven environment
- Demonstrated competence in using technology for virtual meetings, project management, and training delivery
- Ability to work independently and productively in a remote setting
- Proven capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality outcomes
- Strong team orientation and consistent demonstration of the organization’s TEACH values
- Exceptional writing skills for developing high-quality, engaging content for student learning
Responsibilities
- Supports comprehensive goals and project plan for each course being developed
- Manages multiple course development projects while monitoring, measuring and reporting on progress to ensure courses are delivered on time and with the highest level of quality and innovation
- Identifies and engages appropriate faculty SMEs in the development of courses
- Provides regular updates to Curriculum leader regarding status of courses being developed
- Identifies and resolves potential barriers to project timeline
- Participates in final stage quality assurance procedures for courses through scheduled review and maintenance
- Uses best practices and current research to design appropriate assessments into every course that evaluates student learning, course outcomes, and how the course contributes to program outcomes
- Analyzes multiple data sources related to curriculum/courses and interprets and synthesizes data to lead appropriate improvements
- Conducts/engages in research in consultation with external teams on curriculum, teaching, and learning assessment
- Participates in course development and improvement to include key activities, timelines and resource requirements needed to achieve objectives while adhering to an appropriate systematic development process and timeline
- Maintains curriculum maps and levels the following curricular elements: Pedagogical approach, and learning assessment to appropriate professional and regulatory standards and assures consistency
- Writes assigned course content within required timeframes with minimal oversight
- Maintains programmatic accreditation requirements in relation to curricula
- Maintains currency in practice and curriculum knowledge (via literature, research trends and changes/developments in healthcare)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in learning outcomes assessment and program evaluation (preferred across all delivery formats)
- CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) certification preferred
- Experience developing content in health science disciplines preferred
