Summary
Join our team as a Healthcare Data Analyst and contribute to data-driven decision-making in the U.S. healthcare industry. You will analyze clinical, claims, and operational data to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance healthcare delivery. This role requires experience working with healthcare datasets and a strong understanding of healthcare systems, compliance requirements, and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably within a healthcare environment (payer, provider, or health tech)
- Proficiency in SQL for querying large healthcare datasets
- Experience with healthcare data types such as
- Medical claims (e.g., CPT, ICD,codes)
- EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau,)
- Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data security best practices
Responsibilities
- Analyze claims, EHR (Electronic Health Records), and clinical data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving patient care and operational performance
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to visualize healthcare KPIs
- Support population health initiatives by providing data-driven insights on risk stratification, readmission rates, and care gaps
- Partner with stakeholders in clinical, operational, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver analytics solutions
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and prepare presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Monitor data quality and contribute to data governance best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis
- Familiarity with risk adjustment models (e.g., HCC), predictive analytics, and value-based care reporting
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
- Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, or related field is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking with a passion for healthcare improvement
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
