We're seeking Data Analysts to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by analyzing data, creating reports, and providing statistical support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, information systems, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the healthcare IT government industry
  • Proficiency in using SAS, R or Python, performing large data analyses and statistical modeling for healthcare research or analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and present to stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers who are studying ways to improve the quality and reduce the cost of care provided to chronically ill Medicare beneficiaries
  • Create production code in SAS, R or Python in a cloud environment to support a CMS project using Medicare and/or Medicaid administrative data
  • Create, review, and maintain analytic documentation, provide data interpretation and generate reports in support of proposed research questions
  • Provide quality reviews on analyses and analytic programs to ensure consistency with specifications and collaborate with other team members to identify potential problems with data and/or processes and to take appropriate action to guide the resolution process
  • Assist in developing statistical models and provide predictive analytic statistical support
  • Communicate statistical and data-related concepts to a variety of stakeholders
  • Use advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business decisions
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, efficiencies, and other business outcomes
