Summary
Join Underdog, a rapidly growing sports gaming company, as a Data Analyst II, Commercial. You will play a crucial role in supporting various teams across finance, accounting, payments, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining critical reporting and performance metrics, analyzing business and customer data to identify trends and inform decision-making, building dashboards and data visualizations, providing validated data models, producing accurate reporting, partnering with internal teams to standardize KPIs, and developing data-driven strategies. This role offers the opportunity to tackle diverse business problems, work cross-functionally, and make a direct impact on Underdog's operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in data analytics
- Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to build reliable data models enabling analysis and supporting clear, impactful insights
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Sigma
- A track record of supporting internal stakeholders, ideally in areas like finance, accounting, or compliance
- Experience working with transaction-level data, double-entry accounting, and robust polymorphic data sources
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and focus on delivering results
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to partner effectively with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining critical reporting and performance metrics for finance, accounting, payments, and compliance teams
- Analyzing business and customer data to identify key trends, investigate root causes, and inform decision-making
- Building dashboards and data visualizations to communicate insights and performance trends to stakeholders across multiple teams
- Providing thoroughly tested and validated data models to be used as source of truth metrics across verticals within the company
- Producing accurate & validated reporting that meets regulatory requirements
- Partnering with internal teams to standardize & track core KPIs, and develop data-driven strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, and
/or gaming commission reporting
- Familiarity with GLI-33 reporting requirements or state regulatory reporting
- An interest in sports or the fantasy sports industries
