Summary

The job is for a Data Engineer at Age of Learning who will focus on supporting finance and digital marketing stakeholders by building data warehouses and evolving the data infrastructure. The role requires 2+ years of Data Engineering experience, excellent SQL, Python, and data modeling skills, experience with dbt and Snowflake, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work iteratively.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Data Engineering experience
  • Able to leverage abstraction to solve complex problems
  • Excellent SQL, Python, and data modeling skills
  • Experience with dbt and Snowflake
  • Experience contributing to scalable data systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience delivering results within set timelines
  • Can work iteratively, defining requirements as needed

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize data models to support various business needs, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across the organization
  • Design, build, and maintain a simple, effective, and scalable data warehouse infrastructure using Snowflake
  • Implement and manage ELT processes with dbt to ensure reliable data pipelines
  • Manage data integrations with external systems
  • Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver actionable insights
  • Collaborate with and learn from experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Ensure testing and validation mechanisms are in place so that data transformations are verified, complete, documented, and meet SLAs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with dbt
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake
  • Experience working with finance and/or digital marketing data
  • Experience building and/or maintaining A/B Testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for managing data infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Understanding of machine learning and data science concepts
