Data Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Mid-Level Data Engineer for a short-term, 4-week project. We're looking for someone with strong experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to design, develop, and maintain ETL processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on SSIS
• Proficient in SQL and experience with SQL Server database management
• Hands-on experience with ETL design, development, and implementation
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data transformation techniques
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality principles, and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Must be US-based and eligible to work in the US (US Citizen/Permanent Resident)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to ensure smooth data flows between systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable data integration solutions
• Optimize and troubleshoot SSIS packages for performance and reliability
• Manage, transform, and integrate large datasets from various sources into existing databases
• Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the ETL lifecycle
• Document data workflows, processes, and technical requirements
• Review and document all dependencies between SSIS jobs and other systems (databases, applications, or external data sources)
• Capture the detailed logic of each SSIS package, including data sources, transformations, and destinations
• Document how error handling and logging are set up within each SSIS job
• Review and document the scheduling mechanism (e.g., SQL Server Agent) for SSIS job execution, along with any automation or trigger conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
• Familiarity with other ETL tools or scripting languages like Python
• Understanding of data security and compliance standards
