Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong experience with Python, SQL, Snowflake, a good understanding of AWS Services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Eventbridge, API Gateway, Sagemaker, EC2, S3, IAM), along with familiarity with DBT for data modeling and pipeline optimization
  • Strong knowledge of data infrastructure concepts, software design principles, data governance, security, data modeling principles, and data quality monitoring
  • Proven experience with DataOps practices such as orchestration (Prefect/Airflow), CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen to prioritize and evaluate the impact of data projects on overall business goals
  • Business fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Lead Scalable Data Initiatives: Architect and oversee data infrastructure to support advanced analytics, real-time insights, and machine learning, ensuring it's built to scale and adapt to new technologies
  • Develop High-Performing Data Pipelines: Create reliable, high-performance data pipelines that integrate diverse data sources, enabling real-time and batch data processing with minimal downtime
  • Drive Cross-Functional Projects: Collaborate with teams across Data Science, Engineering, and Product to deliver impactful data-driven solutions that support strategic goals
  • Champion Best Practices in Data Engineering & Governance: Establish data engineering standards, focusing on governance, security, and compliance to drive efficient and responsible data use across the organization
  • Mentor and Inspire the Team: Guide and support the data engineering team through code reviews, technical mentorship, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
  • Optimize ETL/ELT Workflows: Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes that ensure data accuracy, reliability, and ease of access for business use cases
  • Shape Strategic Data Planning: Lead planning and prioritization for data engineering initiatives, focusing on ROI and long-term business value to support growth and innovation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture and Event Sourcing
  • Experience implementing data governance initiatives
  • Experience in SaaS, marketplace, or lead generation environments
