Summary

Join Precisely's Summer Internship Program as a Data Operations and Business Intelligence Intern! This paid, part-time, 10-week remote internship (June 9th-August 15th) is open to US-based undergraduate students. You'll work closely with the IT team, supporting the migration of the data warehouse from SQL Server to Snowflake and contributing to the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence. The role involves improving data reliability and speed in Tableau Cloud, analyzing data differences between SQL Server and Snowflake, and assisting non-IT users with data source migration. This internship offers valuable experience in a tech company setting, networking opportunities, and hands-on experience with data operations and business intelligence.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Strong analytic skills including experience with Tableau, Excel Pivot Tables, data wrangling, and scripting languages
  • Facility with ANSI SQL Language
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, collaborative thinker with an ability to learn new things, assess problems and identify proactive solutions

Responsibilities

  • Support the BI Center of Excellence, which is focused on creating a data driven culture focused on sharing, teaching, identifying performance improvements, and experimenting with emerging technologies
  • Improve the reliability and speed of Tableau Cloud Extract refreshes by contributing to the migration of data from SQL Server to Snowflake
  • Profile, review, and gain an understanding of several data sources that exist in SQL Server. Recreate SQL Server data assets in Snowflake using SnowSQL
  • Analyze the differences between SQL Server and Snowflake data assets, specifically focused on data accuracy, performance improvements, etc
  • Publish data sources and configure extract refreshes on Tableau Cloud
  • Update dashboards and reports on Tableau Cloud. Replace the existing data source with a Snowflake equivalent. Ensure all dashboards are showing accurate data
  • Help non-IT Tableau creators migrate from existing data sources to their Snowflake equivalent
  • Other duties may be assigned
