Join Turnitin as a Data Quality Specialist and contribute to maintaining the accuracy and consistency of our data. You will be responsible for account management, data clean-up, and total addressable market (TAM) tracking. This role involves managing account records, standardizing data processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for account management and data tracking, ensuring data governance compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine TAM methodologies and align with business strategies. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and experience managing or cleaning customer data.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in data stewardship, data governance, business intelligence, or sales operations
- Customer Data Expertise: Must have experience managing or cleaning customer data to maintain high-quality records. Experience with hierarchical structures and customer families is a big plus, especially in maintaining parent-child account relationships and ensuring data consistency
- Detail-Oriented: Must have a high standard for data quality and an exceptional attention to detail
- Process-Oriented: Experience developing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and drive alignment on data initiatives
- Technical Skills: Comfortable with Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) or MDM platforms is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve account data quality, ensuring accurate and consistent records
- Ensure uniformity in account and contact details by maintaining standardized data formats and naming conventions
- Identify, assess, and execute account merging and deduplication efforts to streamline records
- Maintain correct parent-child account structures and ensure proper account hierarchy relationships
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Business Intelligence teams to align account structures across platforms
- Develop and implement SOPs for account management and data tracking
- Enforce data governance rules and policies to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across systems
- Establish best practices for handling account updates, merges, and data validation
- Monitor data governance compliance and proactively address inconsistencies
- Support the development and maintenance of TAM models to ensure accurate market sizing
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to refine TAM methodologies and align with business strategies
- Create and manage tracking mechanisms for monitoring TAM shifts and insights
- Partner with Business Intelligence, Sales Ops, and Business Systems to ensure data integrity
- Identify opportunities to automate and enhance account and TAM management processes
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Data Visualization Tools: Experience with tools like Tableau or Power BI is helpful but not required
