Data Science Intern

Summary

Join Simulmedia's Data Science internship program in Kyiv or Lviv, Ukraine for a paid, part-time (20 hours/week) opportunity lasting 3-6 months (May-October 2025). This role offers hands-on experience in advertising technology, focusing on developing and optimizing machine learning models, data analysis, and collaborating with engineering and product teams. The position is primarily remote with occasional office visits. Interns will gain valuable skills in data preprocessing, model building, visualization, and presentation. The program provides exposure to big data technologies and cloud computing solutions.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Python and core libraries for Data Analysis, Visualization, and Machine Learning (e.g., pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, scikit-learn)
• Understanding of fundamental Machine Learning concepts: regression, classification, clustering, and artificial neural networks
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control
• Basic knowledge of higher mathematics and statistics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to extract meaningful insights
• Build, train, and evaluate Machine Learning models
• Maintain existing models
• Develop data pipelines and ensure efficient data processing
• Create analytical reports and visualize findings for stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to integrate models into production

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Big Data analysis methodologies
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, Athena, EMR)
• Hands-on experience with Tableau
• Knowledge of SQL and database querying
