You will play a key role in building and deploying scalable machine learning solutions that drive meaningful business decisions. This role involves transforming data science prototypes into production-ready systems, utilizing modern tools and DevOps best practices. You will be responsible for tasks such as time series forecasting, classification, and pricing optimization, while collaborating with data engineers and DevOps teams. This is a hands-on opportunity to tackle high-impact problems and enhance your skills throughout the entire ML lifecycle. You can work 100% remotely if you are currently living in LATAM or join the team at the office in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in Python, particularly with libraries such as scikit-learn, statsmodels, and pandas
- Solid command of SQL for data exploration, transformation, and feature engineering
- Experience with deploying models to production, serving them via APIs, and managing versioning with GitLab or similar tools
- Familiarity with containerization and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Docker and Terraform
- Practical knowledge of time series forecasting, classification models, and statistical analysis
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- You will need excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team
- We're looking for someone with 2+ years' of experience in similar roles
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and monitor machine learning models for time series forecasting, classification, and pricing optimization
- Convert exploratory notebooks and prototypes into clean, scalable production Python code
- Set up and manage APIs for batch or real-time model serving and integration with business applications
- Maintain and optimize end-to-end data and ML pipelines, ensuring seamless flow from ingestion to deployment
- Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure model and code quality across environments
- Collaborate with data engineers and DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD practices and support infrastructure using tools like Docker and Terraform
- Refactor legacy codebases for maintainability, performance, and scalability
- Utilize tools such as Databricks and version control platforms like GitLab for collaborative development and model lifecycle management
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to revenue management or pricing optimization techniques; knowledge of microeconomics is a strong plus
- Experience with Databricks and/or Azure is preferred
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in ML workflows
