Summary
Join SweedPos, a product-driven startup, as a Data Tech Lead to build and scale the data platform for client-facing analytics and core ML functionality. This remote role requires leading the development of production-grade data infrastructure, implementing high-availability pipelines, and collaborating with various teams to understand data needs. You will manage data costs, introduce operational best practices, and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a technical/team lead capacity, and expertise with modern data stacks (ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium, and Snowflake). Requirements
- 5+ years in data engineering/platform roles, including 2+ в technical/team lead capacity
- Experience with modern data stacks — we use ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium, and plan to migrate to Snowflake
- Deep understanding of building resilient, production-ready data pipelines and working with large-scale analytical workloads
- Experience with cost management, query optimization, and production SLAs for client-facing systems
- Strong communication and autonomy — you can drive projects end-to-end, communicate tradeoffs, and align across teams
- Comfortable with cross-functional work and owning outcomes, not just systems
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and evolution of our data platform (currently: ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium), with an upcoming migration to Snowflake
- Lead the development of production-grade data infrastructure powering our client-facing reporting suite — reliability and uptime matter
- Implement and manage high-availability, observable pipelines with clear SLAs and incident processes
- Collaborate with ML, backend, and product teams to deeply understand internal and client-facing data needs
- Manage data cost structure: monitor query performance, optimize storage and compute usage, manage Snowflake cost strategies
- Introduce and maintain operational best practices – incident management, data SLAs, access control, testing, and monitoring
- Hire, grow, and mentor a small team of data engineers and analysts
- Drive vendor/tooling decisions, balance build vs buy, and lead key migrations (e.g., Snowflake)
- Act as a strong partner to product and executive teams, with technical depth and business awareness
