📍Remote - Worldwide

Summary

Join SweedPos, a product-driven startup, as a Data Tech Lead to build and scale the data platform for client-facing analytics and core ML functionality. This remote role requires leading the development of production-grade data infrastructure, implementing high-availability pipelines, and collaborating with various teams to understand data needs. You will manage data costs, introduce operational best practices, and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a technical/team lead capacity, and expertise with modern data stacks (ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium, and Snowflake). The position demands strong communication, autonomy, and the ability to drive projects end-to-end. SweedPos offers a competitive salary, 100% remote work, flexible hours, and various benefits.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in data engineering/platform roles, including 2+ в technical/team lead capacity
  • Experience with modern data stacks — we use ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium, and plan to migrate to Snowflake
  • Deep understanding of building resilient, production-ready data pipelines and working with large-scale analytical workloads
  • Experience with cost management, query optimization, and production SLAs for client-facing systems
  • Strong communication and autonomy — you can drive projects end-to-end, communicate tradeoffs, and align across teams
  • Comfortable with cross-functional work and owning outcomes, not just systems

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and evolution of our data platform (currently: ClickHouse, DBT, Dagster, Airbyte, Debezium), with an upcoming migration to Snowflake
  • Lead the development of production-grade data infrastructure powering our client-facing reporting suite — reliability and uptime matter
  • Implement and manage high-availability, observable pipelines with clear SLAs and incident processes
  • Collaborate with ML, backend, and product teams to deeply understand internal and client-facing data needs
  • Manage data cost structure: monitor query performance, optimize storage and compute usage, manage Snowflake cost strategies
  • Introduce and maintain operational best practices – incident management, data SLAs, access control, testing, and monitoring
  • Hire, grow, and mentor a small team of data engineers and analysts
  • Drive vendor/tooling decisions, balance build vs buy, and lead key migrations (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Act as a strong partner to product and executive teams, with technical depth and business awareness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bonus: experience in regulated or high-compliance environments (e.g. fintech, healthcare, cannabis)
  • Proactivity – We love team members who take initiative and provide feedback
  • Critical thinking – We value problem-solvers who think beyond just writing code
  • Adaptability – Our industry is evolving fast, and we need people who thrive in change

Benefits

  • Salary in USD (B2B contract with the US company)
  • 100% remote – We’re a remote-first company, no offices needed!
  • Flexible working hours – Core team time: 09:00-15:00 GMT (flexible per team)
  • 20 paid vacation days per year
  • 12 holidays per year
  • 3 sick leave days
  • Medical insurance after probation
  • Equipment reimbursement (laptops, monitors, etc.)
