Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage an active portfolio of projects
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with the successful growth of a design team
  • Experience with design-bid-build types of construction projects
  • Experience with vertical new construction, building renovation, and civil/site infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience with construction building codes and permitting processes

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing engineering design teams executing facility construction and renovation projects
  • Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document compliance with the design scope
  • Ensure designs conform with applicable regulations, codes, and standards
  • Ensure deliverables (e.g., project submittals) are reviewed internally in accordance with quality control requirements
  • Ensure customer expectations for quality, schedule, and cost are met
  • Oversee subcontracted design services
  • Oversee post-construction award services when required
  • Supporting team growth and development through recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD-specific codes and requirements is preferred
  • Expertise with at least one of the following, but preferably all: HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural
  • Applicable professional certification or license (e.g., Professional Engineer or Registered Architect) is preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance
