Summary

Ozone is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of Linux support, DevOps or SRE experience, scripting skills, Kafka experience, AWS experience, media caching pipeline experience, MongoDB experience, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, monitoring and logging tools proficiency, IT infrastructure knowledge, SOP/KB writing, program management methodologies understanding, self-motivation, and optional bonus points for fast-growing startup experience, entrepreneurial mindset, ITIL certification, live service support, Product Design group collaboration, video game industry experience, and passion for video editing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Linux in a professional setting
  • 5+ years of experience working in a DevOps or SRE-related role
  • 5+ years of experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and/or Groovy scripting
  • 5+ years of experience with scaling and tuning real-time data pipelines with Kafka and Kafka Streams
  • 5+ years of experience developing, deploying, and scaling containerized environments with Docker and/or Kubernetes in AWS
  • 3+ years of experience working with and optimizing media (audio, video, image, etc.) caching pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience configuring, supporting, and scaling multiple AWS environments across EC2, ECS, S3, Cloudfront, etc as well as Serverless computing environments (Lambda, etc)
  • Experience with integrating MongoDB or other NoSQL Databases as well as real-time databases such as RocksDB
  • Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform etc.)
  • Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Proficiency in one or more monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, Logstash, etc.,)
  • Proficiency with IT infrastructure: networking, storage, security
  • Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Knowledge Base Articles (KBs)
  • Experience with program management methodologies and working with Program Managers

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the core team to design the future of the product
  • Apply engineering best practices throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases
  • Build tools to help manage and implement software upgrades and patches
  • Design and engineer solutions to help support advanced troubleshooting and avoid repetitive tasks
  • Implement effective monitoring and alerting for all Application services
  • Proactively maintain and develop backend systems infrastructure
  • Participate in the improvements of the stability, efficiency, and scalability of our environments
  • Oversee routine maintenance procedures and perform systematic testing
  • Help shape the DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and best practices
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions consistent with industry best practices
  • Be a trusted escalation point for our services team and customers, sharing a 24x7 on-call rotation
