Summary

The job is for a DevOps Engineer at Yopa, a hybrid estate agency that uses technology to provide cost-effective property selling services. Requirements

• Amazon AWS knowledge. We use RDS, CloudWatch, ElasticCache, IAM, Lambda, VPC, S3, Route 53, Certificate Management, IDS/IPS, Application Firewall
• The ability to solutionise problems
• Proficient in Terraform
• Good understanding and experience in firewall (iptables, ufw) and more importantly security groups
• Comfortable with different kinds of databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc), NoSQL, Redis and their security
• Proficiency in shell or any other operational scripts
• Strong knowledge of technology and security topics and practices (application security, infrastructure hardening)
• Load balancer knowledge: via ALB, Nginx
• Docker experience in production
• AWS CLI, Bash
• Good knowledge in VPN (OpenVPN)
• Experience with CI/CD Pipeline (Jenkins (extra value for prior knowledge of Jenkinsfiles), TeamCity)

Responsibilities

• Working closely with Developers/QAs to optimise their process
• Liaising with IT support regarding cloud based queries
• Improving continuous integration and delivery pipeline via Jenkins
• Help tune performance and ensure the high availability of our infrastructure
• Maintain several environments (Production, Staging, Development) and also their subsequent dependencies
• Optimising containers and maintaining docker cluster on various environments
• Maintain/improve disaster recovery
• Manage and deploy configuration changes utilising aforementioned orchestration tooling
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
• Maintain APM, security compliance tools
• Code your infrastructure
• STIG, fuzz testing, vulnerability scanning
• Automating OWASP top 10 testing
• Incident handling with legal department and e-forensic partner
• Maintaining security risk document and improve security posture overtime
