Summary

The job is for a DevOps engineer with 4+ years of experience to oversee the deployment and operation of neural networks and information retrieval pipelines in a government setting on GovCloud. The position requires active US Government issued Secret security clearance, experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, MySQL, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, cloud object storage, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and gitops, good communication skills, understanding of the government landscape, and knowledge of Terraform, ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, Logging infrastructure, Observability frameworks, security, and SOC2 compliance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps including automated system configuration, application deployment and maintenance, and infrastructure-as-code
• Active US Government issued Secret security clearance for managing government solutions in GovCloud. Experience with GovCloud
• Real-world experience managing production systems on large-scale in a public cloud and Kubernetes environments
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, MySQL, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, cloud object storage
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and gitops experience
• Troubleshooting production issues at both the platform and customer application levels
• Knowledge of the government landscape
• Good communication skills, understanding customer needs, project management, customer success

Responsibilities

• Deploy via IaC and maintain Vectara’s internally developed software on GovCloud
• Work independently within team environments to set up and maintain deployment in GovCloud
• Take end-to-end lead on identifying and escalating issues, propose solutions with discussions with the dev team, and deploy solutions
• Direct customer interaction, spanning initial use case discovery and exploration, product Q&As, technical POC assistance, coordination with customers on milestone deliveries
• Project management for government projects, status updates, and coordinating deliverables of project phases

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the following is a plus: Terraform, ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, Logging infrastructure, Observability frameworks, security, SOC2 compliance
