Digital Advertising Intern

Summary

Join Middle Seat, a full-service firm for progressive causes, as a paid digital advertising intern for Spring 2025 (March-May 2025)! This internship offers a chance to work on impactful campaigns focusing on racial justice, climate action, and other progressive issues. You will gain hands-on experience in ad trafficking, copywriting, performance analysis, and administrative tasks. The role is available remotely or in-person in Washington, D.C. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, technically adept, and passionate about progressive politics. A background in social media or digital advertising is a plus. The internship offers a competitive hourly salary.

Requirements

• Be excited by the idea of working for left-wing and Democratic clients doing great work on the ground
• Enjoy the idea of testing different creative options and analyzing performance data of each testing variant
• Be technically adept and pick up new tools easily
• Be detail-oriented and organized
• Be a senior, in your last year of an undergraduate program, or a recent grad
• Be committed to working for progressive political campaigns
• Be a team player
• Follow along with the news of the day and have a solid understanding of the U.S. political system, political campaigns, and key progressive issues (i.e. abortion, racial justice, labor, climate change, etc.)
• Commit to full-time (40-hour work week) or near full-time availability, with consistent hours each week (our hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM ET)
• Be based in the United States

Responsibilities

• Traffick ads
• Write ad copy and petitions
• Pull together reports
• Analyze ads performance
• Handle some administrative tasks
• Other responsibilities as requested

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a background in social media management or digital advertising
• Have worked on a political campaign, advocacy organization, or nonprofit
• Have some experience in Facebook Business Manager and Google Ads
• Be a fantastic writer
